BMS School of Architecture is an upcoming Institution. I have the confidence that BMS SA is going to be among the best in the country soon. Our efforts towards realizing this goal is to create an excellent learning atmosphere in the School.
a) Provide quality resources and support for the students and faculty.
b) Promote faculty development to enable better contribution.
c) Generate academic and leadership skills and finally emphasize learning, creativity, innovation and design.
I am encouraged by what I see around me because of the exceptional caliber of the students who are enthused to demand the best of the Institution imbibe new practices and be the best in what they do in future.
How is BMSSA different from others?
The leadership of Dr. Sapna Papu and the team that she is trying to build, faculty involvement in various programmes, the emphasis on academic accomplishments, their intent of infusing contemporary ideas with academics, all this would lead to provide the differentiator for the BMS School of Architecture. This differentiator will provide the sustenance for the School in future.
It is a happy augury that the academic strength has increased from 80 to 120 for the entry class. Eventually we will have 500 – 600 students that will comprise the strength of the School. The School is also looking at the prospects of offering Fine Arts and enhance offerings through Distance Education and Executive Education programmes. Eventually, as these programmes come to being, I have no doubt that the BMS School of Architecture will be the best in its class.
On a final note, I have suggested to the Director and faculty to move for accreditation, since they have completed 7 years and satisfy the eligibility conditions. Accreditation would open the doors to autonomy and provide academic freedom and opportunity to innovate and improvise. They can aspire for National and International status.
This is the growth path I envisage for the BMS School of Architecture. I am confident that they are engaged in a very exciting journey. Best Wishes.
